ROUTINE EYE EXAM

IN OUR ROUTINE EYE EXAM we perform a comprehensive health check starting at your cornea (front of eyes) to your retina (back of eyes) all the way to the brain. We truly believe the eyes are extensions of the brain so we do a full health check. We also perform a “refraction” to assess your best vision with glasses. During a routine eye exam, we can address any questions you may have about your eyes or eye health. Commonly discussed topics in our exams are dry eye, contacts, LASIK, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, computer vision syndrome, eye fatigue and eye infections.

CHILDREN’S EYE EXAM

The American Association of Optometrists recommends first eye exam at 6 months, then 3 years and before starting school. As early as 6 months, we are looking to make sure the muscles that surround the eyes have developed and that the child does not have a lazy eye. Furthermore, we look for conditions like amblylopia and diseases such as retinoblastoma, the most common type of cancer in an infants eye.
